WE'RE AGAIN BATTLING A MASSIVE MALWARE ATTACK.
As a lot of you have noticed, we had another malware inject / hacking attempt today.
I know we had way, way too many of those (the one today was a really bad one, with automatic file download and all the bad shit you can think of).
The reason for this (besides people with bad intentions) are issues with our server management, we collected a lot of shitty scripts over the years, which can have a lot of security holes, that have been discovered, but never fixed.
We're currently in the process of moving everything _non vital_ to an external server and only keep the important stuff on the main one. This way we can much better check for potential holes and fix them, before they become a problem again.
I can absolutely understand your frustration about those numerous injects. I, myself probably wouldn't want to visit a website again, that gave me those errors - but I hope the decade long history of this website will give us some more credit with you guys.
I'm pretty sure that you all know I would never let this stuff happen on purpose, but I have to take a lot of blame for it, as I was neglecting server security for way too long.
I can promise you that we're working on cleaning up the server since over two weeks and will continue to do so until we find all issues - this has already been a very expensive undertaking (besides losing traffic), but the support hours I have to pay for the server techs are very expensive, but absolutely necessary.
I can only say that I'm truly sorry and that I'm doing everything within my possibilities to fix these problems once and for all.
